Job Description:

Revenue Team Our revenue team plays an integral role with regard to Guidewire's current operations, our growth objectives, and the broader finance organization. Revenue assurance has an important seat at the table with the CFO, CAO, Dealsdesk, Sales Operation and the Sales leadership team as it relates to deals, new products, licensing, and business model expansion. We operate throughout the world today with plans to drive our growth through organic initiatives as well as acquisitions and partnerships. Our revenue team continues to evolve as we strive to meet the demands of a growing company. The revenue team has the opportunities to influence the long-term direction of the company including how we license and sell our on-premise software, consulting services, and our various cloud services. -- - Position As the Royalty Analyst, you will be a contributing member of the revenue accounting team and will report to the Royalty Manager. As a top candidate, you should have a desire to learn and analyze royalty and cost to obtain transactions using your understanding of revenue recognition (ASC 606.) In this role you will have full ownership of our company's royalty and cost to obtain accounting processes. You will collaborate on a real-time basis with our Partner Alliance, FP&A, Sales Operations, Internal and External audit teams.-- - The expectation will be that you along with the Revenue Manager are the Subject Matter Experts on the team.-- - ResponsibilitiesOwn royalty transaction processing, month/quarter end close related activities and account reconciliations Assist in analyzing and researching royalty accounting matters regarding new and existing partner/reseller agreementsCollaborate with Partner Alliance team on a regular basis to obtain all relevant information in order to close the booksDevelop, establish, and maintain desktop procedures for each area of responsibility. Assist in maintaining and updating internal documentation for royalty and cost to obtain policies, procedures, and controlsPrepare journal entries and reconciliations for royalty capitalization and amortizationPrepare schedules to support monthly reviews, quarterly audit and external reporting processesPrepare quarterly royalty reports for each partner/vendor agreement on a timely basisWork closely with cross-functional groups to properly account for cost to obtain on a monthly basisParticipate in implementation of Royalty Accounting technical systemsPerform cost to obtain analysis on a quarterly basis-- --- - Requirements2 + years of Accounting and Operations experience requiredSolid planning and prioritization skills. Demonstrates high energy with the ability to remain flexible and change priorities in a challenging and fast-paced environmentProven ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and often ambiguous work environmentStrong oral and written communication skills and customer service skills is required, as well as eagerness to learn and take on challenges in a rapidly growing and dynamic environment. Must be a detail-oriented, team player and self-starter.Excellent Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; and independently take ownership to manage assigned tasksKnowledge of royalty accounting and basic understanding of revenue accountingOracle Cloud application and Salesforce experience is preferred.
