This position will be based out of our headquarters in San Mateo, California, and reporting to the Internal Controls Manager (the job will be a mix of in-office and remote), the Senior IT Auditor will play a key role in leading ITGC Controls for ERP and non-ERP applications to comply with ITGC requirements. You will be responsible for the entire IT SOX Audit lifecycle. You will be expected to oversee all the ongoing SOX, Internal and external audits ensuring all applications in operation are fully compliant with ITGC SOX Audit requirements and zero audit failures. You will play a key role in working closely with all application teams, Internal and external Auditors. You will work with project delivery teams making sure all the required Audit controls are implemented and reviewed with System Owners to get their sign off during the project implementation phase before migrated into production. What You'll Do:

• Lead all the ITGC Audit related activities ensuring all the audits are executed as per deliverable timelines with zero audit failures.
• Responsible to perform or assist in risk identification/remediation, risk reduction consultation, reporting, and compliance.
• Experience in SOD remediations and Mitigating Control reviews.
• Review ITGC requirements and expectations for new or expanded application implementations received via PRA (Preliminary Risk Assessment) or direct inquiry to ensure ITGC Narratives are in place.
• Lead and coordinate onboarding of new applications on GRC tools and implement SOD process, provisioning and de-provisioning process.
• Help train and develop team members to understand ITGC controls and procedures.
• Execute IT audits successfully by conducting interviews, identifying key risks and controls, drafting work papers, gathering evidence and performing testing.
• Identify, evaluate, and document the design and effectiveness of the company's internal controls looking for both control gaps and opportunities to gain process efficiencies.
• Interact with business partners to assess audit findings including control weaknesses with an appropriate degree of professional skepticism.
• Draft audit reports to formally communicate the results of the audit and related recommendations to senior management.
• Stay up to date of company business strategies, industry technology advances, and the risk profile of assigned business areas to ensure relevancy of audit approach.
• Work with Backblaze's external auditors to support their examination efforts. The Right Fit:
  • Bachelor 's / Master's degree in management Information Systems, Accounting, Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience conducting internal or external risk-based audits.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
  • Understanding of IT General Controls (ITGCs) and Segregation of Duties (SOD).
  • Certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
  • Working knowledge of basic IT/IS concepts such as logical access management, cybersecurity, change management.
  • Organized and possess the ability to handle competing priorities and meet important deadlines.
  • Able to follow instructions accurately and efficiently; proactive in asking clarifying questions to ensure work effort is directed wholly toward the desired outcome.
