Job Description:
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager
with a strong foundation in the principles of outsourcing, contract
management, finance and vendor management to support drug
development projects from late-stage research to through product
registration. This individual will work closely with key
stakeholders to support successful negotiation of outsourcing
related activities including contracts and budgets, and vendor
relationship management over the contract life cycle and will
report directly to Sr. Director, R&D Outsourcing, Contracts and
Vendor Management. Responsibilities: Support the Sr. Director on
with the entire end-to-end process of R&D outsourcing and
contracting activities with service providers including but are not
limited to Vendor Identification, Vendor Capabilities, Request for
Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), bid
comparison/evaluation, bid defense meetings, vendor selection,
contract and budget negotiations & execution. - Provide contract
lifecycle management (e.g, contract amendments, cost containment,
end of project reconciliation) needed to support development
programs working with relevant R&D internal stakeholders. -
Critical thinking ability to ask probing questions to uncover
business needs into vendor capabilities, RFI, and RFP as
appropriate and provide recommendation for vendor selection for a
program or specific trial(s). - Ensures consistency in complex
Vendor Outsourcing specific policies and procedures, demonstrates
understanding of corporate goals as they relate to Vendor
Outsourcing. - Support ongoing improvement to Vendor Outsourcing
business process. - With support from Legal, acts as lead for
contract negotiation process on assigned projects. - Ensures
contracts are established and executed to contribute to corporate
success in a timely and cost-effective manner - Negotiate and
support consulting and health care professional agreements (e.g.,
advisory board agreements, DSMBs), - Support Finance Team during
budget refresh to ensure pending contracts and amendments are
captured appropriately. Outsourcing and Vendor Management - Works
with relevant stakeholders to develop outsourcing strategy -
Establish and cultivate effective internal and external
partnerships to meet the company's business requirements related to
quality, delivery, and timelines. Manage the evolution of CRO
partnerships and alliances through their life cycles - Support and
potentially lead 'fit for purpose' governance across key CRO and
vendor relationships from inception through implementation, manage
governance plan, and provide guidance to key stakeholders. - Triage
program or study-level vendor performance issues, escalate
high-risk issues to the relevant stakeholders, and facilitate plans
for executing resolution and/or mitigation strategies. -
Demonstrated the ability to recommend or make critical decision
associated with vendor contract negotiation and escalations. -
Collaborate with and support relevant key stakeholders to develop
and implement analytics/metrics to improve decision making, measure
value, and enable a more strategic view of the portfolio, including
development of Key Performance Indicators to measure supplier
performance and drive business goals and improvements. Desired
Skills and experience: - BA/BS degree and a minimum of 5-7 years'
experience from a relevant discipline/industry preferably in
biotech/pharma industry - Strong interpersonal and problem-solving
skills. - Strong work ethics with the ability to prioritize and
operate with a sense of urgency and apply critical thinking in
day-to-day activities - Outsourcing, contract and budget
development and management experience - Skilled in MS Office Suites
(i.e., MS Word and Excel) - Ability to work independently and cross
functionally - Possess flexibility to adapt to small biotech
culture and environment with limited resources, "ready to roll up
your sleeves to get the work done" attitude. The US base salary
range for this full-time position is $152,000 - $180,000 + bonus +
equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level,
and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the
minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position
across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is
determined by work location and additional factors, including
job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
