Accounting Manager or Senior Accounting Manager

Our client is a successful Fintech software vendor embarking on an exciting growth journey after significant recent internal investment in new products, people, and capabilities. Their software is used by some of the world's top banks, hedge funds and commodity traders to run their trading and investing businesses. They have over 30 Financial Services clients globally, supported by their team of 100 talented individuals in San Mateo, New York, London, and Paris.


LOCATION:San Mateo, CA. Hybrid. 3 days in office.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reports to: CFO
Position Responsibilities:

• Hands on development and maintenance of excel based Budgeting and Financial Forecasting Model
  
• Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis
  
• Preparation of Quarterly and Monthly Financial reports
  
• Entry of accounting journal entries into QuickBooks
  
• US accounts payable and vendor management
  
• Monthly P&L and cash flow analysis, monitoring and forecasting
  
• Commission calculations
  
• Stock option calculations and administration
  
• Access GP general ledger system and financial reporting systems to pull actual financials for use in trending and forecasting analyses
  
• Manage team of 1 (to be hired)

• Planning and Priority Setting: Demonstrate an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goals. Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  
  
  Qualifications:
  
  
• CPA
  
• Minimum 6 years' experience
  
  
• Minimum 2+ years' experience in Big 4 Accounting Firm
  
• Minimum 2+ years' experience in private industry
  
  
• ExpertMicrosoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  
• Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  
• Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated.
  
• Experience in QuickBooks will be beneficial.
  
• Experience in technology and software business will be highly regarded.
  
  
  Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $135,000-$175,000. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
