Observe is a SaaS Observability product which enables businesses to investigate modern distributed applications 10x faster. Observe ingests anything with a timestamp (e.g. system and application logs, metrics, and traces), and then structures that data so that it is correlated and easy to navigate. We enable engineers to spend more time coding features and less time investigating incidents. Finally, because of Observe's unique elastic architecture, it is priced based on usage, making it cost 10x less than incumbents. to learn more about our mission.Traditional approaches to this problem have resulted in fragmented tooling and fragile dashboards which, in turn, have resulted in exploding costs and complexity. At Observe, we believe that the core challenge lies in organizing and relating telemetry data emitted by those applications, despite the fact it is constantly changing. • Developing robust APIs for distributed caching with various levels of consistency guarantees
• Making our services take full advantage of available Kubernetes infrastructure
• Enhancing database and modeling libraries to support robust, deterministic operation
• Steering service infrastructure development to make sure Observe gives ourselves best-in-class systems and tooling
• Analyzing and rearranging parts of the service into cohesive service groups
• Improving our use of declarative capabilities and automated analysis in our engineering toolset
• Optimize usage of machine resources to deliver faster responses, cheaper
• Continually re-building our rocket, as it's taking off!Qualifications (you match several but not all)
  • BSCS degree or equivalent experience (higher is a plus)
  • 10+ years experience working on service infrastructure
  • Fluency in modern statically typed languages, especially Go and C++
  • Understanding of distributed system operations and failure modes
  • Knowledge of HTTP as well as other networking protocols
  • Ability to foresee and steer developer use and misuse of fundamental APIs
  • Container cluster-based development, especially with Kubernetes
  • Experience with SQL, especially Postgres
