Overview
IDC is looking for a Sales Director who will focus on selling IDC's Insights / Vertical research products to large, enterprise technology vendors primarily on the West Coast.
The Sales Director will sell IDC's Energy, Manufacturing, Government, Financial, Health and Retail Insights programs as well as Vertical Research and/or Data products to large vendors. They will also be responsible for both renewing an install base of business and selling net new programs.
The Sales Director will be entrepreneurial, motivated, assertive, and collaborative, as well as be a self-starter and a quick thinker.
This role is ideally suited in our San Mateo, CA office, in the Seattle area, or in an approved remote location in the Pacific Northwest.

Responsibilities
--- Generate revenue in both renewal and new sales of subscription research and custom research opportunities to IDC clients, working with the IDC global sales and account teams--- Develop an in-depth knowledge of IDC/Insights Vertical products and services, as well as building strong relationships with individuals across IDC/Insights--- Prospect for incremental opportunities, follow up on proposal generation, respond to client requests for information and/or problems, and continue to enhance the client value proposition
Qualifications
--- Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience--- 10+ years of outside sales experience within the Technology, Services, or Research industry including account development and management--- Strong written, analytical, and verbal communication skills--- Good time management and organization skills--- Advanced training in sales and sales processes--- Experience in communicating value to customers --- CRM/Salesforce experience--- Prior market research industry sales experience a plus--- Prior experience selling an intangible product or service is a plus--- Telephone cold calling experience preferred--- Approximately 20% travel (post-COVID)
