Job Description:

As Chief Business Officer (CBO), your responsibilities will include coordinating with the CEO, CFO, CMO, GM, and other senior executives of a company to establish and develop business opportunity and partnership strategy. You will provide executive leadership in strategic planning of company structures matching the business opportunities to maximize company valuation and optionality. The Chief Business Officer will be a major contributor in the strategic development and shaping the success of Brii Biosciences. He/she will work closely with the CEO, CFO, corporate executive leadership team and the Board of Directors to drive all business aspects of further evolution of the company. Specifically, the CBO will be responsible for or support all operational aspects of the company, including corporate and business development, strategic planning, partner networking/alliance management, competitive insight into clinical development, as well as support investor relationships and fundraising. Other duties include serving as an internal stakeholder on financial matters and creating organizational strategies that keep the business opportunities aligned with company growth.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the CEO and members of the leadership team and Board of Directors to define Brii Biosciences vision and strategy for long range planning, asset level strategies with regard to licensing and partnering strategy
  • Lead or support the development of strategic partnerships, M&A, subsidiaries, joint ventures and alliances, as well as platform technology and intellectual licensing opportunities, competitive insight into clinical and commercial development
  • Negotiate both inbound and outbound licensing terms, deals and financings
  • Support IR/PR activities and fund-raising activities
  • Design an executive business roadmap of potential business opportunities, including internal and external development programs, and financing opportunities
  • Develop and control the annual business development budget
  • Lead external innovation opportunities (with academia and industry) to expand commercial opportunity of drug candidates
  • Cultivate a strong and effective business development team to evaluate the potential new therapies and to integrate a commercial perspective early in the research and development process
  • Monitor competitive intelligence by keeping up to date on market trends, competitors, and opportunitiesQUALIFICATIONS:
    • 15+ years' experience in pharma/biotech executive leadership positions
    • Demonstrated ability to network and influence external stakeholders towards shared goal and achieving results
    • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
    • Entrepreneurial background; previous C-level experience in biotech
      fund-raising expertise (front line) or at least very closely with CEO/CFO
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Established track record in deal making experience with a clear record of results and ultimate transactional responsibility
    • Demonstrated expertise in the drug discovery and drug development process
    • Build productive work relationships both internally and externally
    • Industry experience in BD&L and/or project management
    • Excellent industry and investor network
    • Be able to travel and manage a demanding schedulePREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
      • Advanced degree in Medical or Life Science (M.D. or Ph.D. with MBA or relevant training)COMPETENCIES:
