We envision a world in which security systems feel as seamless and modern as the organizations they protect and our enterprise solution becomes a model for not just business security, but public security as well.ResponsibilitiesManage, monitor and review the month-end closing process to ensure accurate and timely accounting records are maintained.Investigate and provide OPEX variance analyses and other accounting support/analyses to the Head of Groups and VPs - and management team; may also include revenue analyses for certain business units.Monitor and review the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements.Plan and design business processes and objectives and make recommendations and changes in order to improve and support scalability and compliance of company policies and procedures.Participate in the year-end audits, working with parent company and external auditors.Optimize ERP accounting functionality via automation, scheduled entries, canned reports, etcManage, mentor and develop a team of 4, of which 1 is direct report.Be a liaison between the Accounting Department and other cross-functional teams as well as between Rewards and parent company and its subsidiaries.Perform other duties or assist with ad hoc projects as requested.RequirementsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance 9 + years of accounting experience in an accounting or financial management role -Big 4 or national accounting firm experience is requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical accounting issues or guidance in concise and easy to understand business terms to internal and external customersCPA RequiredAbility to multi-task, prioritize and respond quickly to a rapidly changing environmentStrong technical accounting knowledgeStrong analytical skills and attention to detail are required as well as the ability to research issues, prepare evaluations on problems and recommend viable solutions.Passion for understanding processes and continuous process improvementExperience with ERP systems (Netsuite preferably)Perks & Benefits Generous company paid medical, dental & vision insurance coverage -Unlimited paid time off & 11 companywide paid holidays -Wellness allowance -Commuter benefits -Healthy lunches and dinners provided daily -Paid parental leave policy & fertility benefits - Verkada is an equal opportunity employer.
