The Role: BigHat Biosciences is looking for a motivated and energetic Director*, Finance with a strong background in biotech finance, accounting, and reporting.*At BigHat we believe in titles that are commensurate with skill set, relative organizational impact, and value contribution. • 
  
• Lead financial analysis, including special projects, at the request of leadership to support business decisions; conduct relevant financial analyses (e.g., with FactSet or Bloomberg) to support transaction activities
  
• Stay up to date on recent relevant financial transactions and promptly prepare a case study to present to the leadership team
  
• Work cross-functionally with Business Development to perform market & competitive research and analysis to inform valuation, business planning, and other strategic financial activities
  
• Build, create, and drive easy-to-use finance processes
  
• Maintain and update the BigHat long-term budget and create summary reports for key meeting and decisions with a focus on thereapeutic program milestones
  
• Work closely with Accounting on their procedures, aiding in the completion of relevant reviews, documentation, and reconciliations
  
• Manage interactions & workstreams with third parties (e.g., auditors)
  
• Manage tasks and projects related to equity & investments (e.g., updating cap tables, refreshing 409As)
  
• Partner with People Ops around compensation structure and execution
  Preferred Qualifications
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree required (finance/accounting, business, science, engineering)
    
  • 2 to 4 years minimum of relevant work experience, preferably in one of the following areas: management consulting, investment banking, or corporate development/operations roles within the biopharma industry
    
  • Expert in Excel, PowerPoint, and GoogleSuite; able to perform data analysis via Excel/Google Sheets to inform business & financial decision making
    
  • Collaborative working style and demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
    
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    
  • Expert in analyzing and understanding sales forecasts, P&Ls, and company valuations, discounted cash flow, net present value, internal rates of return, and risk analysis
    
  • Ability to identify and solve operational gaps & inefficiencies
    
  • Self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced and innovative high-growth environment
