Job Description:
Gould Medical Group is looking for a BE/BC Trauma and Acute Care
Medical Director at a Level II Trauma Center in Modesto, CA. Gould
Medical Group is a growing, 525 clinician multi-specialty group
located about two hours east of San Francisco, California. Our
communities offer quick access to the bay area as well as other hot
spots such as Napa Valley, Yosemite, and Lake Tahoe. Position
Details: Starting base salary: $538,111 0.5 FTE medical director
and 0.5 FTE clinical Preferred experience with building and
managing trauma program with acute care surgery component. Medical
director will lead a team consisting of trauma surgeons and APCs
Critical care fellowship preferred RVU bonus potential based on
productivity Sign-on bonus Hospital: Memorial Medical Center,
423-bed, Level 2 trauma Completion of one ATLS course is required
Shift requirement: 91 12-hour trauma surgery shifts (Possibility of
back-to-back shifts) EHR: Epic Stable and growing group Clinical &
Administrative Responsibilities: Executive Summary The Trauma
Medical Director is responsible for the comprehensive oversight of
the trauma program, ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory
compliance, and continuous quality improvement. This role requires
active engagement in daily operations, leadership of a
multidisciplinary team of physicians and APCs, and collaboration
across hospital departments. The Trauma Medical Director is
expected to: Maintain full-time commitment and reasonable proximity
living for effective leadership. Ensure continuous monitoring,
analysis, and improvement based on performance metrics. Collaborate
with the Trauma Program Manager and multidisciplinary teams for
optimal patient outcomes and program success. Program Leadership
Recruitment, onboarding, and development of trauma physicians and
APCs. Scheduling and maintaining 24/7 in-house coverage of
qualified physicians and APCs. Foster professional development and
continuing education, and organize training for trauma team
members. Quality Improvement & Accreditation Lead quality
improvement initiatives and protocol development. Ensure compliance
with ACS Committee on Trauma (COT) and state regulations. Oversee
trauma registry data collection and reporting. Review trauma cases
for protocol adherence and outcomes. Policy & Committee Engagement
Develop and update trauma service policies and protocols. Chair or
participate in medical staff committees as needed (e.g., trauma,
critical care, infection control, peer review). Interface with
