Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Santa Cruz,
California, 95065! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN
(Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2
years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification NRP
Advanced Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: COVID Vaccine Required
Description: Unit has 8 rooms but can expand to 10. Certifications
required include BLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring. Patient
ratios are 1 to 1 or 1 to 3. EMR systems utilized are Cerner and
Fetal Link. Charge nurses are present and do not take patients.
Nurse aides are OB techs who can function as nurse aides. Weekend
work is required every other weekend. Holidays are rotated among
the core staff. Scrub color is ceil blue provided by the facility.
Central fetal heart monitoring is available. There are no
ventilators in the unit. OB/GYN has hospitalist or intensivist
available on-site. IV team support is available during the day.
Respiratory therapy services are available 24/7. Pharmacy services
are available 24/7. Shifts are 7a to 7p, functioning on 12-hour
shifts. Floating may occur to Mother Baby unit. Floor specific
orientation consists of 3 shifts on the unit. Common diagnoses
include high risk pregnancies, PIH, preeclampsia, addiction,
preterm labor, and magnesium sulfate administration. Lactation
consultants are on staff. The facility is baby-friendly. If RNs can
scrub, it is considered a plus. OB techs are only required to have
BLS certification. The unit sees 65-75 deliveries per month. A
level 3 NICU is available in-house. This is a locked unit.
Cancellations may occur with specific limits during assignments.
