As a Content Developer at Upstart, you'll play a critical role in supporting product feature launches, training, and knowledge sharing by creating, articulating, and preparing job aids, presentations, and learning modules via engaging and creative techniques. You will work cross-functionally across multiple areas, including, but not limited to: Operations, Servicing, Compliance, and Learning and Development.

The Content Developer will contribute to the creation, design and development, and delivery of operational processes and procedures.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Own the content creation process, including creating and publishing newsletters, Lessonly modules (Learning Management System), Atlassian pages, presentations, and more to inform a cross-functional audience of upcoming launches, new processes, and important changes.
  • Design and create engaging learning materials for a cross-functional audience while maintaining strict adherence to corporate policies and procedures
  • Identify learning objectives for specific competencies, and then develop hands-on exercises to achieve them
  • Evaluate and develop content based on suggestions for content improvements from various sources
  • Collaborate with team members to build out comprehensive learning paths/resources for customers and team
  • Reverse engineer internal content (newsletters, presentations, documentation) into engaging learner centric material
  • Elevate content development processes to include storyboarding, user personas, visual appeal, and knowledge checks, to ensure content audience members are informed

    What We're Looking For
    • Minimum Requirements:
      • 1 - 3 years of instructional design experience or equivalent
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate highly technical data and processes into layman's terms that can be understood by internal and external stakeholders
      • Experience cataloguing and documenting processes to a high level of detail, preferably within the financial services industry
      • Ability to work cross functionally between technical and non-technical teams and act as a voice for them
      • Ability to think critically and propose creative solutions as well as flag inconsistencies in documentation
      • Ability and demonstrated success juggling multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines
      • BA/BS degree
        • Preferred Requirements:
          • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Knowledge Management Systems (KMS), such as Lessonly and Confluence.
          • Experience working with a startup, fintech, or financial services organization
