Zoox's Road Network team is responsible for developing the tools and infrastructure necessary to build, curate, and manage our high definition road network.To achieve these goals, ZRN has built several web applications that enable us to visualize, inspect, and validate the semantic road data. Web front-end engineers work on both high-level services like internal visualization tools, and the underlying technologies that accurately render the semantic data which is used in numerous applications across the company. We're just getting started, and we have many more tools we can't wait to build as we develop our web team.We are looking for candidates with frontend web experience (full stack experience is a big bonus!) who are excited to shape the future of our web tools. We use Three.js and Vue.js in most of our applications.ResponsibilitiesLead a team of 5-10 software engineers working on a variety of interrelated projectsGather, define, and execute on requirements from our downstream customers like Perception, Prediction, Planner, and Vehicle OperationsWork internally within the ZRN web team and cross functionally with downstream clients to design new systems and feature requestsQualificationsExperience building web-scale applications and content pipelinesExperience building and monitoring system health dashboards and diagnostics frameworksExperience driving projects from conception to delivery using a requirements-first approachAbility to work with users to understand key issues and to solve the right problems7+ years of industry experience designing and developing complex web applicationsExperience with Javascript/Typescript and PythonBachelor's degree in computer science (or related field) or equivalent practical experienceBonus QualificationsProficiency in UX designExperience using a reactive UI framework such as React, Angular, or VueExperience with OpenGL, WebGL, or Three.jsExperience building and deploying containerized applicationsExperience with geometry, routing, or graph theoryExperience with mapping or GIS systemsCompensationThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary will range from -$203,000 to $293,000. A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. -Zoox also offers a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (e.g. sick leave, vacation, bereavement), unpaid time off, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, Amazon RSUs, health insurance, long-term care insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, and life insurance.Vaccine MandateEmployees working in this position will be required to have received a single dose of the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine OR have completed the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series. -In addition, employees will be required to receive a COVID-19 booster vaccine within two months of becoming eligible for the booster vaccine.Employees will be required to show proof of vaccination status upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment.
