The Team The Growth team is in charge of expanding Upstart's reach to the millions of Americans without access to affordable credit. We are energized by the prospect of breaking ground in our field and making a positive impact on people's financial lives. We are looking for a conceptual art director/designer with a strong background in traditional and digital design and a passion for brand building. This person not only loves personal finance, but is skillful and creative in crafting effective design solutions that share the Upstart story and purpose with consumers. As the Senior Art Director/Designer , you'll work with the Creative Director and larger Growth team to uplevel the visual aesthetic of the brand, build out performance-driven marketing campaigns and collateral, and deliver amazing brand experiences across all touchpoints. How you'll make an impact: Evolve and refine Upstart's visual brand identity and deliver impactful design solutions across consumer, business and internal marketing channels. Leverage research, insights, data and relative trends to influence brand guidelines and design choices. Ability to thoughtfully communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale and design details to key stakeholders. With a high level of self sufficiency, manage day-to-day workflow while maintaining project timelines and deliverables. Collaborate efficiently with multidisciplinary internal teams and external vendors. Deliver strong conceptual ideas from a strategic business perspective. Contribute to each phase of the design process: research, brainstorm, concept sketches, mood boards and rationale write-ups, storyboards, wireframes and user-flows, design layout, photo art direction and more. What we're looking for: 7+ years of art direction and design experience at an advertising agency, design studio and/or in-house team (tech experience is a plus). A portfolio showcasing your best-in-class and award winning work. Extensive experience in brand-building initiatives, including (but not limited to) creating highly engaging direct mail, email, digital social and interactive experiences. An impeccable eye for detail and immeasurable dedication for crafting to the smallest degree. A champion for innovative ideas and a ninja at scaling design solutions in accordance with project parameters. Experience working in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment. A self-starter who thrives on taking ownership of design projects big and small. Excellent communication, written, presentation, and organizational skills. A strong ability to prioritize work and resources across short and long-term projects. A solid working knowledge of brand development, interaction design, digital marketing and the creative process"as well as new platforms and emerging creative technologies.
