About this job
The Pill Club is expanding, and looking for a full-time experienced Desktop Support Specialist II who can provide Tier 2 support for our staff. The successful candidate will work with our Information Technology team to maintain the computer systems for our office in San Mateo, California, with the potential need for occasional travel to our office in San Francisco, California (1-2 days per week). The Desktop Support Specialist II will work across a broad range of areas of the business to support incidents, problems and requests will be responsible for answering IT request via phone, email, instant message and in person, while explaining solutions in technical and non-technical terms, to on-site and remote users and/or vendors. This position will require high initiative and the ability to work independently, with limited support at this location.
You will:

  • Build and deploy PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, mobile/smartphones) related to desktop infrastructure, in accordance with department standards.
  • Maintain installed PCs, telephone systems, and peripherals with routine maintenance.
  • Identify, log, and resolve technical problems with software applications.
  • Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with departmental and corporate guidelines and timelines.
  • Explain and document technical issues in a clear way to clients.
  • Take on assigned project tasks from IT Leadership and follow through to completion.
  • Create & maintain IT procedure documentation.
  • Escalate issues in a timely manner.
    You have:
    • Ability to operate with minimal supervision & meet deadlines
    • Ability to work from our San Mateo office with occasional travel to our San Francisco office (1-2 days per week)
    • Ability to work occasional weekends
    • High degree of knowledge of G-Suite, Windows applications, and networking fundamentals
    • Experience with Windows, Windows Server 2016 or above, MacOS, and any Linux distro
    • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, DFS, and WDS
    • Excellent customer communication skills using phone, email & slack messaging systems.
    • A good team player and have great interpersonal skills
    • Demonstration of problem-solving skills to resolve unique IT related issues
    • Experience using an e-ticket support system (i.e. JIRA Helpdesk, Remedy, etc.)
    • Comfort with occasional after hours, including nights/weekends
    • 3+ years of desktop support experience in a corporate environment
      Even better if you have:
      • Scripting and automation (Powershell/Python/Bash)
      • Experience using Microsoft Office Admin Console, GSuite Admin Console, and OneLogin
      • Experience working in a HIPAA-compliant environment
      • Certifications such as: CompTIA Net+/Linux+/Server+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MSCA), Google Apps Certified Administrator and/or Google IT Support Professional certifications, Cisco CCNA, VMWare Certification
