Overview:Our client is a newly-formed, fast-growing trust administration business led by experienced professionals with prior experience at large firms. Theyve developed a niche firm that is already profitable. They are seeking an experienced operations and finance professional to serve as COO for a fast-growing, profitable trust business. This individual will ideally have operated in a highly regulated financial services environment (trust administration preferred) and have a varied skillset with a business operations mindset. This role will have exposure the executive team and to the Board of Directors and will be instrumental for the continued growth of the business. Objectives of this Role:

  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management and the board by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
  • Oversee compliance, interfacing with required regulatory bodies, and establish/maintain policies and procedures
  • Run back-office operations and maintain relationships with third-party financial advisors
  • Create forecasting processes for the business, understanding the complexities of the revenue recognition process in the business
  • Develop short and long-term operational roadmaps to address current and future growth, and execute on those plansResponsibilities:
    • Maintain compliance with various regulatory agencies including, but not limited to FinCEN and the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation.
    • Present financial results and projections to management and the Board
    • Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards
    • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize the protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
    • Coordinate and reconcile accounts maintained by 3rd party advisorsRequirements:
      • Bachelor's degree, ideally in accounting, finance, business administration, or operations
      • Strong entrepreneurial attitude with the ability to adapt and anticipate challenges
      • Expert knowledge of MS Excel - linking spreadsheets, pivot tables/v-lookups, financial modeling, etc.
      • Strong understanding of the trust administration business strongly preferred
      • CPA and/or MBA (or similar certification or degree) strongly preferred but not required
