Principal Scientist, Translational Medicine at CARGO
Therapeutics Reporting to an Associate Director, thePrincipal
Scientist, Translational Medicinewill be responsible for aiding in
the design and implementation of the translational plan in support
of CARGO's CAR T pipeline, and aid in reverse translational
initiatives. The successful candidate will oversee and conduct
laboratory activities related to ongoing and future cell therapy
clinical studies. The individual will be lab-based and work in a
dynamic team-based environment. The ideal candidate will have a
working knowledge of clinical trial implementation, bioanalytical
method development, method qualification and execution in support
of a clinical study including analyzing data under GCLP guidelines
and reporting results per data transfer specifications. The ideal
candidate will have experience in flow cytometry, ddPCR, MSD, and
ELISA platforms, and possess strong and demonstrated documentation
skills. The role is based in San Mateo, CA. WHAT YOU'LL DO AT CARGO
THERAPEUTICS
- Serve as a Translational Medicine (TM) Clinical Program Lead
and oversee clinical pharmacology and biomarker plan development
and execution
- Oversee delivery of key clinical pharmacology data generated at
both external contract research organizations (CROs) and the
internal CARGO TM lab
- Guide development, qualification, and implementation of novel
assays for clinical biospecimen monitoring and biomarker
discovery
- Oversee and perform laboratory activities related to TM
scientific deliverables
- Work with Clinical Data Management and Data Sciences to qualify
data acquisition and interpretation of translational data
- Write, review, and edit technical documents including SOPs,
development/qualification plans and reports, and drafting of study
reports
- Establish relationships with CRO and support the transfer of
novel methods
- Support the preparation of data packages for publication,
presentation and/or submission to Regulatory agencies
- Support Regulatory activities and requests including
Investigational New Drug (IND), Biologics License Application
(BLA), and other key global Regulatory filings
- Contribute to internal and external scientific discussions
- Other duties as applicable THE RIGHT STUFF: Required Experience
& Qualifications
- Doctorate or Master's degree in a scientific discipline,
preferably in Immunology or Molecular Biology
- 8+ years' cell therapy, immunology, or cancer biology
experience
- Familiarity in the areas of cell therapy, immunology,
immuno-oncology and cancer biology
- Understanding of CAR T-cell clinical pharmacology studies (ie:
pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics)
- Experience with clinical biospecimen testing, assay
development, and bioanalytical method qualification
- Experience withflow cytometry,ddPCR, MSD, and ELISA
platforms
- Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
and Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN)
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic person with an attention for
detail
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving
skills, and ability to think creatively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable in a start-up environment and able to adapt to
changing priorities
- Able to work effectively in a team setting and enjoy
collaboration with others
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred Preferred Skills &

MSD, and ELISA platforms. PAY RANGE The combined pay range for this
role is $148,000 - $200,000. Title and salary will be based on our
assessment of skills and experience relevant to our needs for the
